On a city-wide scale, the project has the potential to create a significant new element connecting the city centre with the Zabłocie district, which currently responds to the needs of society, undergoing a revitalization process and large-scale activities aimed at creating new homes and jobs for the growing Krakow population. New connections for motorized traffic and public transport have already been partially established, and this range is gradually extended to include cyclists and pedestrians, to naturally tie the centre of Krakow to the new developing districts into one cohesive entity.

As the city develops several projects aimed at strengthening the infrastructure ring around the city, especially for motorized traffic, some of the city’s main downtown streets will be offloaded in terms of the degree of large-scale traffic, and will only become local. This creates the possibility of transforming valuable urban space from environmentally harmful infrastructure and into a recreation and ecological program in the form of green corridors that promote urban biodiversity.
